Why we chose this SaaS landing page example

The best possible hero text instantly resonates with your audience.

And that’s what incident.io certainly got right.

“Move fast and break things” is a tech saying that has even a book written about it. In a nutshell, it refers to the idea of rapid prototyping, testing, and accepting failures in software development.

In general, I think the best SaaS websites use clear language and avoid sounding too clever.

With clever wordplay, you can win some, but you often lose quite a few prospects who did not get your idea and have better things to do than figure it out.

But it’s not black and white.

If you are like incident.io and sell software that helps you detect issues and handle them swiftly, I could not think of a better hero tagline for your landing page

“Move fast when you break things” is the essence of modern software development work.

Not every SaaS company can find a saying that their audience is 100% aware of. But if you want to use something fairly similar, here are a few examples:

  • "Google Analytics alternative that is simple & privacy-first" (Fathom Analytics refers to a competitor everyone knows about).

  • "Schedule meetings without the email tennis" (Cal uses a common phrase, “email tennis”, that describes frustration).

  • "If you can edit text, you can make podcasts" (Descript making the task sound easier than you think by comparing it to something we all know how to do).

The best headlines are context-specific. Err on the side of caution if you try something similar to avoid confusing your audience.

What’s Indicent?

incident.io is designed for Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Security, and Data teams who currently juggle multiple tools and manual processes to manage incidents. These teams often face challenges like slow response times due to inefficient processes, rigid systems that can't adapt to their needs, missed insights leading to recurring problems, and the complexity of managing multiple tools. incident.io offers an all-in-one incident management platform that integrates on-call scheduling, incident response, and status pages into a single system. Key features include seamless integration with Slack and Microsoft Teams for real-time collaboration, customizable workflows, AI-powered insights, and automated notifications to the right personnel. This enables teams to respond faster to incidents, reduce downtime, improve collaboration, and learn from incidents to prevent future issues.
