Why we chose this SaaS landing page example

It might sound counterintuitive at first, but one primary goal of your hero text is to ensure that some page visitors bounce quickly.

If your hero section copy is spot on, it clearly tells who this solution is for and how their lives will be transformed compared to the current solution. As much as you’d like only the right audience to visit your pages, the reality is that your SaaS website gets visits from users who are looking for something else.

You want to keep visitors who are right for your offering and get rid of those who aren’t.

Lightdash has done a fantastic job in its hero section to make sure the sales team gets qualified leads. The hero tagline, ‘Self-serve BI to 10x your data team’, immediately tells you that this is a product, not a service and that you’ll need a data team. If you are looking for a similar offering provided as an agency service, this is not the right place.

The description continues the same tactic, and the text, ‘Lightdash instantly turns your dbt project into a full stack BI platform', includes ‘dbt project’ to further narrow down the right visitors.

Only a few users sign up straight after reading the hero tagline. But if they do on Lightdash’s page, the lead quality is very likely higher than it would be with a more generalist approach.
