Customer story: BYCB Coaching & Consulting

How Michelle built a coaching website that feels like her

Leadership consulting website banner with a headline, service description, red contact button, and portrait of Michelle MacKeith.

After 36 years in the corporate world, she turned her passion for helping people into her own business. She coaches young women who are new to work, and leaders who lack confidence in themselves.

She wanted a website that felt like her. Warm, inviting and real.

I sat down with Michelle to hear how she went from an idea in her head to a live page.

Before: "That isn't me at all"

Michelle is a very visual person.

She had the vision for her business in her head, but it was hard to put into words. Her earlier website process relied on conversations with an agency. She explained what she wanted, and then waited to see what came back.

When the first designs arrived, her reaction was: "That isn't me at all."

It wasn't anyone's fault. What was said and what Michelle pictured were two different things.

She took a lesson from it that she uses in her own coaching: words are just one way people learn and change. Some people, like her, want to see words and a visual together.

After: A site that feels right by talking to LandingRabbit

With LandingRabbit, Michelle described what she wanted and saw the page straight away.

If something didn't feel right, she just said so. "No, not that. I'm thinking more this." The page changed, and she could react to it right there.

She told me that LandingRabbit's interviews felt like working with a person who was really listening, even though it wasn't really a person. She felt more in control of expressing what she wanted to see.

Honestly, it’s one of the easiest pieces of software I’ve worked with.

Her page is live now, and she can keep improving it as her business grows. The discussion also reminded me that getting it live matters more than getting it perfect.

What's next for Michelle? Her book, Masterpiece Under Construction. More speaking engagements. And growing her coaching business, with a website that already feels like her.
